The short version

Rohingya Lexicon has no server, no account system, and no backend database. There is nothing for us to collect, because nothing you do in this app is sent anywhere. Everything — your searches, your favorites, your history — stays on your own device.

What's stored, and where

The app saves a small amount of data directly in your browser's local storage, on your device only:

• Words you've marked as favorites
• Your recent search history
• Your light/dark theme preference

None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party. You can clear your search history at any time from the History page, and remove favorites individually with the bookmark button. Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser's site data removes all of it permanently.

Voice search

If you use the microphone/voice search button, your browser handles the speech recognition — this app never records or stores audio itself. Depending on which browser you use, converting your voice to text may happen entirely on your device, or your browser may send a short audio clip to its own servers to process it (for example, some versions of Chrome do this). That processing is governed by your browser vendor's own privacy policy, not this one, and only happens when you actively tap the microphone button.

Pronunciation (text-to-speech)

Tapping the speaker icon to hear a word uses your device or browser's built-in text-to-speech engine. This is typically processed on-device, though exact behavior can vary by browser and operating system.

No analytics, no tracking, no ads

This app does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking cookies. We have no way of knowing who uses the app, what you search for, or how often you open it.

Children's privacy

Because no personal data is collected or transmitted by this app, it doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this app's data practices ever change — for example, if analytics were added in the future — this page would be updated to reflect that honestly, with a new "last updated" date above.
